Diaspora Memorial: The Story Is Yours to Tell

For too long, our stories have been told for us. Diaspora Memorial changes that. This is not just a competition; it is a complete journey to become a powerful storyteller for your community. We believe your story is your power—and we provide the training, the platform, and the community to help you unleash it.

Your Journey from Creator to Leader

Diaspora Memorial is a complete ecosystem designed to support you every step of the way. When you join, you embark on a powerful three-phase journey:

1. The Storyteller’s Toolkit: Learn the Craft

Your journey begins with an exclusive 10-week virtual training program. Here, you will master the practical skills of modern storytelling, from smartphone filmmaking and podcasting to the art of the interview, giving you the confidence and ability to create a high-quality project.

2. The Storytelling Challenge: Share Your Voice

Next, you put your new skills to the test. You will create and submit an original story in written, audio, or video format. This is your chance to compete for the prestigious Diasporan Memorial Scholarship and have your work showcased to a global audience.

3. The Leadership Program: Lead the Movement

The journey culminates in leadership. Top finalists are invited to become paid WeDiasporan Ambassadors. In this elite role, you will receive advanced training and a platform to mentor the next generation, solidifying your place as a leader in our community

In Loving Memory, For a Living Legacy

Diaspora Memorial was founded by Obehi Ewanfoh in loving memory of his late mother, Mrs. Maria Ewanfoh. It is a tribute to the elders whose lives form the bedrock of our identities. This project ensures the next generation has the tools to carry those memories forward with pride, creativity, and purpose.

Your Voice Can Shape the Future

The training, the platform, the community—it’s all here. The only thing missing is your voice. If you are ready to tell the story only you can tell, your journey begins now.
