Project Memorial: The Living Library

Building a Sovereign Digital Archive of Cultural Intelligence. Rooted in 12 years of longitudinal research documenting the African Diaspora in Northern Italy since 1975.

The Global Challenge: Every time an elder passes away, a library burns to the ground. Decades of lived experience, migration history, and indigenous wisdom vanish because they were never documented. Project Memorial is a transnational strategic intervention designed to solve this “cultural burning library” crisis.

We are training the next generation of the Diaspora to become Digital Librarians and Custodians of Memory. Using our proprietary ONBA (Now-Before-After) Technique developed from 12 years of research, students transform oral traditions into structured, professional-grade Narrative Assets. Developed by Obehi Ewanfoh and detailed in the Storytelling Mastery series, the ONBA Logic moves beyond casual conversation into a forensic “Harvest”:

The Diagnostic Baseline

We begin by establishing a forensic “Narrative Compass” to map the current reality of our Living Libraries. By documenting the present-day challenges and status of our elders, we create a precise entry point for data collection.

The Historical Extraction

The core of our methodology focuses on the systematic extraction of lived experience, specifically targeting the migration trajectories and strategic victories that shaped the subject’s journey.

The Strategic Succession

Our final phase is designed for “Legacy Continuity,” distilling essential wisdom into a focused roadmap for the community’s future security.

A Unique Solution for Italian Education (MIUR Compliance)

Project Memorial is designed to fulfill the Ministero dell’Istruzione (MIUR) requirements for the Italian school system:

  • Educazione Civica: Fostering intergenerational solidarity and national social cohesion.
  • Digital Innovation (PNSD): Training students in Digital Humanities, using modern tools to archive oral history.
  • Intercultural Authority: Transforming classroom diversity into a collaborative research project, reducing friction through shared memory.

We are the stories we tell

A Tribute to the Living Library: In Loving Memory of Our Elders

Rooted in 12 years of research documenting the first African arrivals in Verona and Northern Italy since the mid-1970s, Project Memorial is designed to bridge the generational divide. We are transforming lived experiences into a permanent, “Sovereign Legacy” for the future.

By honoring the elders whose lives form the bedrock of our identity, we equip the next generation. With forensic tools and creative purpose they carry this cultural intelligence forward with pride and authority.

Secure the Future of Our Collective Memory.
